The legendary Can-Am Sunoco Porsche 917/30. Dubbed "The car that killed Can-Am" because it was just too fast and dominant. This car had a 5.3 litre, twin turbo, flat twelve engine that produced over 1500HP in qualifying trim and 1100HP in race trim. It's power to weight ratio was 1968hp/tonne! This power meant the car could go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, 0-100 in 3.9 seconds and 0-200 in 10.9 seconds. I think you'll agree this car was NUTS!
It was raced in the Can-Am series from 1971-1973, until the fuel crisis completely changed motorsport (for the worse).
This is my most popular creation on
MOCpages (there are more detailed photos here)
I thought it might be an idea to make a project out of it.
