Understand that the Master Sword does change a bit throughout its numerous portrayals. Therefore this representation isn’t based off any single representation. Instead it takes the most important features of the Master Sword and turns them into a slightly new, LEGO representation.


I am perfectly aware that the idea of a full sized LEGO Master Sword may have more appeal to some people. But in the end I opted for a smaller version. The reasons are as follows:

1. The smaller sword uses fewer pieces while still keeping a high level of detail, making it more appealing from a production standpoint.
2. It’s not nearly as much like an actual weapon, making it safer and therefore more viable from a marketing standpoint.
3. It’s much easier to store or put somewhere for display. I can tell you right now that the full size master sword was a bit of a pain to display anywhere, especially with its enormous height (while in the pedestal of course).


We’ve already had MINGLES’ Zelda project go through review, Ragaru’s project is currently in review, WeTalbott’s project should easily reach 10,000 sometime this year, and flailx has a great Wind Waker project going. Let’s show Lego just how much we want Legend of Zelda sets by keeping Lego Zelda projects in constant review!

Piece count: The sword itself is just over 100 pieces. With the pedestal the total build comes to 275.

Estimated Length: Just shy of 45 Centimeters.

Sturdiness: Many people have turned to the comments to express concern over the sturdiness of the sword. Being that the newer, smaller version of the Master Sword only exists in digital form, I can’t give you a flat out answer. But I can tell you than the full-sized, physical copy that I built a while back was able to withstand quite a bit of swinging before it would even begin to break.

Estimated price range (in US Dollars): With the pedestal, the sword would probably cost between $25-$35. But if necessary, the sword could always be produced without the pedestal, allowing for a set that only cost $10-$20.

NOTE: Some people feel the need to point out that they would rather have a real, usable Master Sword. Being a sword owner and user myself, I can tell you that real Master Swords are rare, expensive, and virtually always custom made. The closest thing you could find would be a full-tang stainless steel Master Sword. For those of you that don’t know, stainless steel is highly likely to bend, crack, or break if you actually try to use it like a real sword. Real swords should be made out of Carbon steel. Unfortunately finding a carbon steel Master Sword is incredibly difficult (if not impossible) unless you have it custom made. Therefore, the majority of Master Sword replicas are made for display (as this would be), cosplay, and/or larping.

I also have a Fire Emblem project in the works. If anyone has some art experience and is willing, I would love to collaborate with them to bring the project up to it's full potential. All that really needs to be done is a few (digital) custom microfigures.
