League of Legends of Lego - The Raid on Baron Nashor

created by Addam on 2012.03.31

Main Section
The concept is the Lego recreation of notable elements from the game League of Legends, by Riot games.

Based on the responses about the previously shown models, the final concept of the project is: The Raid on Baron Nashor.

This concept recreates a very iconic moment of League of Legends game sessions, the epitome of teamwork: getting the Baron Nashor buff.

The concept of the set includes:
- Model of Baron Nashor
- 5 champions
- Environment props (rocks, signposts, torches)
- 1 Vision ward

I'd like to thank all the supporters who voted for this project, and the people who helped to promote this project.

UPDATE 2013-05-23:

Since many of the commenters have awaited this for a long time, I'm making it official:
IT'S OVER 9000!

LEGO Review Results for League of Legends of LEGO - The Raid on Baron Nashor

2013.10.23

First and foremost, congratulations to Addam for reaching 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO, and toward everyone for all of the support of the League of Legends of LEGO - The Raid on Baron Nashor project! The results of the LEGO Review are in and you can see full details on the LEGO CUUSOO Blog.

Review Results for League of Legends of LEGO - The Raid on Baron Nashor
Our team has thoroughly considered the possibility of releasing this project as a LEGO set according to the criteria of the LEGO Review. Unfortunately the LEGO Review Board has decided that we will not produce this project as a set.

Thank you to Addam for the passion and creativity that went into this project, and to all of you who voted so that we would have the opportunity to consider this as a potential LEGO set. We’re sorry to deliver this disappointing news.

How do we arrive at our decisions?
By gaining 10,000 supporters, a fan-submitted project moves from the Idea Stage to the Review Stage, where it earns the opportunity to be considered as a future LEGO® set in a quarterly process called the “LEGO Review.” Gaining 10,000 Supporters is just the first step in this process.

A "LEGO Review Board" composed of professional set designers, product managers, marketing representatives, and other key team members examine each qualified project. They build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product; including factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product, including those developed internally, goes through a similar process and must meet the same standards.

The amount of time this takes varies due to all the factors involved. Unfortunately, this process sometimes means that well-conceived projects that gain just-as-passionate followings have to be turned down. Please note that the LEGO Review Board makes all final decisions on which new sets the LEGO Group will release based on CUUSOO projects.

Congrats on 10,000 Supporters, Addam!

2013.06.03

Victory tastes … purple!

Congratulations, Addam, and all supporters of the “League of Legends of LEGO - The Raid on Baron Nashor” project, for reaching 10,000 supporters just in time for the Summer 2013 LEGO Review deadline.

You’ve done a great job engaging your supporters and focusing them around one iconic scene from the game for consideration. We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A "LEGO Review Board" composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.

The LEGO Review Begins in June
This project qualifies for the quarterly review beginning in June. For more information about the quarterly review process, see this blog post.

The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the League of Legends of LEGO - The Raid on Baron Nashor concept.

When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.

We will post follow-up information and our decision here.

Congratulations on 5,000+ Supporters!

2013.04.10

Hi Addam,

Congratulations on 5,000+ supporters for your project, League of Legends of LEGO!

As we said before, your models are very well done; they do an excellent job capturing League of Legends characters in LEGO bricks.

Remember that LEGO CUUSOO is set up to produce individual sets. Check out #6 on the post Cheat Sheet: How to Pass the LEGO Review with Flying Colors. If your project reaches 10,000 supporters, we would naturally attempt to focus on a single product as a candidate for release. So, you might wish to choose how to ideally group an assortment of characters into a set and which characters are your priority for being produced in a single set.

Best wishes as you continue on your journey to achieving 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO.

The LEGO CUUSOO Team

Congratulatory message from LEGO for +500 votes

2012.04.11

Congratulations on all of the supporters! We're quite impressed with the quality of work and the level of thought you have put into these League of Legends creations. They're great interpretations of the characters from the popular game using LEGO bricks. Very well done.

Best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters!

The LEGO CUUSOO Team

Note: If your idea is selected, the LEGO Group will make the final decision on how your proposed product should be produced, the final design, applicable licenses, production run size, sales channels, etc. Please understand that our comments here do not have an effect on the LEGO Review that will take place if the project reaches 10,000 supporters.
