The Princess Bride is one of my favorite movies of all time and I believe it would be perfect for LEGO because the movie is enjoyed by all ages. I think it fits exactly with what LEGO is looking for when they choose themes for sets There are so many different iconic characters and scenes that can be adapted to sets. Below are some of the designs I came up with using LEGO digital designer with my limited custom LEGO building experience (hopefully they can be improved upon by LEGO if approved). The program proved to be very extensive as far as the number of different pieces but there are some custom to pieces that would be ideal, e.g different hair for minifigs, including ones with crowns for Prince Humperdinck and Buttercup, and swords for Inigo and Westley, if the set were to be manufactured. Above are the designs I came up with for the characters, some of which I have actually made into real minifigures. (Front Row) Dread Pirate Roberts, Buttercup, Inigo, Fezzik, Vizzini. (Back Row) Prince Humperdinck, Count Rugen, Miracle Max, Buttercup (Wedding), Florin Soldier. I have also come up with other designs (not shown here) for Miracle Max's wife and alternate designs for Fezzik (Black cloak), Humperdinck (Red outfit), Count Rugen (yellow outfit), Westley (opeining "as you wish" scene outfit), and Buttercup (opening scene outfit). Hopefully LEGO could get the appropriate licensing for sets like this.
