Hello CUUSOO and fans of LEGO!

As many of you know the first LEGO TECHNIC ball-and-socket system was introduced in 1999. Many different parts were released using the socket connection method, but unfortunately it was flawed and the sockets would snap under stress. There were two attempts to fix this but both failed, until the third attempt at redesigning the ball socket to prevent this succeeded in 2011. These improved ball socket parts are now most commonly used in the Hero Factory theme, alongside some others.

However many MOCists still find themselves using parts with the older, weaker ball socket to build with, as LEGO have not re-released many old parts with the new ball socket implemented. Thus, I propose to LEGO through this project: A new LEGO service pack, which contains one of every pre-2011 ball socket part, but remoulded with the newer ball socket so fans can update their collections and creations.

Below are the contents of what the set would contain: one of every part produced with the old ball socket which has not been updated by LEGO, updated in this set! For the image below I used the parts that are already available on LDD and added in the other ones myself. The two parts that are in circles are there because I cannot find good pictures of all the colours they are available in.

Overall, my proposed set contains 106 parts (one of every non-updated!) and so would cost around $15/£15. It would probably only be available on LEGOshop.com instead of in ordinary supermarkets and toy stores!

If multiples of this set are bought fans of LEGO get the opportunity to replace the parts in older sets with the updated ones, improving the quality of play immensely.

Some parts using the old ball socket instead of the new one are still used today, in the Hero Factory theme (for example the two-pronged clawed foot and the 'Glatorian' head). So if updated moulds for these parts are produced for this set they can also use them in other future sets too.
