The sport of Australian Rules Football is as unique to Australia as Gaelic Football is to Ireland, as well as being the oldest Football league in the history of sports. What better way to celebrate the game than a special edition series of Minifigures for the Australian market!

Similar to the Collectable Minifigs, and London Olympic Minifigures, the AFL Aussie Rules Footy Figs could be available only in Australia.

Footy fans are known for being avid collectors and these would make a splendid addition to their collections.

All 18 teams could be represented, as well as two extras; A Goal Umpire and a Boundary/Field Umpire, and each in a mystery poly-bag.

Using various hair molds from previous Minifigures, each character could have a different design/colour hairpiece and face, which of course can be mixed and matched with other figures so eventually one could own a few AFL team in figures.

The players wear very short shorts, so the leg printing will also reflect this and stop at the curve in the minifigs leg.

LEGO is very expensive in Australia, but we are a loyal and captive audience, this would be a great collectible for us to own.
