    LEGO: The Tabletop Game (LEGO:TTG)

    created by chwbcc on 2013.01.07

    Main Section
What if there was a way to play tabletop games with your collection of LEGO?

    Well now there is.

LEGO: The Tabletop Game (LEGO:TTG) The worlds first customizable table game for all ages.

For all you gamers out there it's like playing a customizable card game and a table top adventure all in one.

Like other Collectible Card Games (CCGs) LEGO:TTG offers the ability to build a unique deck of cards to use during the game. And like traditional Tabletop games there are a set of "Core Rules" that control the basic game mechanic.

Combined these two elements create a fun crazy table top game that is enjoyable for LEGO Fanatics of all ages.

The Core Mechanic is based on simple Character Cards. These cards list the abilities of that specific Mini Fig.

These Character Cards establish the how the Mini Fig interacts with the Core game mechanic. The Lederhosen Guy can Attack, Move and Defend while he is on the board. He also has a special ability that allows him to throw his Pretzel and attack other Mini Figs on the board.

The card also has a point value assigned to the character so when players build their party of Mini Figs each side is balanced. For example two players agree on 2500 point party. This means that their starting Mini Figs point values have to equal up to 2500 points. This helps keep the game fair and balanced.

#8 is still a concept we have been developing. The idea would be that this area would show players how to build this character using existing parts from other Mini Figs. So new character cards could be created mixing parts from preexisting LEGO sets creating new interesting characters.

Action Card make up the players customized deck cards.

These cards are used during game play to help you or hinder your opponents Mini Figs.

Action Cards range from Healing cards to Prevention cards, Building cards and equipment and transportation cards. Players can decide what types of cards will best fit with their tabletop playing style.

    Collectivity
Players will be able to purchase starter Decks of 60 preselected cards and Booster packs to help build better decks and collect different character cards.

Cards will be assigned different collectable values and rarity seeding in the packs creating a demand to collect more cards to improve a players deck and to complete a players collection.

Here is the basic turn phase of the game:

    Turn Phase
The player who goes first can perform up to 2 actions with each of their Mini Figs. These actions can be Move and Attack, Move and Move, Attack and Attack or any other combination of movement, attack and special abilities as long as you only perform two actions per Mini Fig. (unless cards or abilities say otherwise)

    Draw a Card
At the beginning of each players turn they draw a card. If they have more than 5 cards in their hand they will have to discard a card. (unless cards or abilities say otherwise)

    Moving
How far the individual Mini Fig can move is determined by the Move total on their character card plus any modifiers that may be in play! Use the included Mini Fig Ruler, or any ruler, to determine the actual distance moved, as the Move total is determined in inches.

If your move ends within an inch or less of an enemy Mini Fig then you’re in range to perform a bare handed or Melee Attack. Ranged weapons can perform a Ranged Attack from further away, however, more on that later.

    Attack
You may use any ability or item when you are within range to engage. Roll a D6 and if the result is equal to or higher than the Attack value on your character card plus or minus bonuses then you’ve successfully landed a hit.

    Defending (Opposing player)
When your opponent has landed a hit on your Mini Fig then you have a chance to defend. Roll a D6 and if the result is equal to or higher than the Dodge value on your character card plus or minus bonuses then you’ve successfully dodged the attack! You’ll lose no hit points. If you fail the roll, you’ll lose one hit point.

    Playing Cards
Cards can do a variety of things from doing damage to multiple targets, making your character temporarily invulnerable, allowing you to build structures on the play area, healing your character, adding actions to your turn phase, and so much more. Only one card may be played at anytime per turn.

    The End of Your Turn
Once you have completed your turn you pass control to your opponent.

    Expandability
LEGO:TTG is built to be expandable. As new LEGO sets are created, new cards can be made to include new Mini Figs into the Core game. Expansion sets/decks/boosters could be created specifically for each LEGO Set.
Monster Hunter Booster Packs could feature classic Monster Movie Action Cards and Unique Characters building instructions themed to that world.
Space Booster Packs featuring extraterrestrial mayhem and special equipment and incredible sci-fi equipment.
Ninjago Boosters with action card illustrating the ancient secrets of the Ninjago masters.

    But wait there is more!!!
Not only is LEGO:TTG a Player vs Player (PvP) tabletop game it can also be a co-op game because we have developed additional types of game play.

    Game Modes:
    Versus
Player vs Player - Two or more opponents duel it out to defeat the other player for ultimate control of the tabletop.

    Cooperative Modes
Horde - Players team up to battle seamlessly never ending onslaught of enemy characters. Skeletons, battle droids, aliens and more are sent in waves to attack the defending players. Defeat all the bad guys and you win.

    Story Modes
Adventure - Player create a party to venture into dark dungeons, strange towns or far away planets where a Game Master tells a story and uses LEGO sets and Mini Figs to populate the world.

So as you can see LEGO:TTG is a action packed social game for kids of all ages. Simply grab some LEGO, build your deck and battle it out with your friends using all of your favorite Mini Figs.
