Monty Python and the Holy Grail: The Rabbit of Caerbannog

UPDATE #2: the image of the minifigures has been replaced, the new image shows an alternative, official Lego-conform solution for Tim's helmet/hood. Special thanks go to Glen Bricker for doing photoshop magic on that image. Check his Cuusoo projects out!

UPDATE #1: I decided to update my Holy Grail project due to changes of the CUUSOO guidelines: "Please keep your project limited to suggesting one stand-alone LEGO product, and not a series of products or playtheme".

The project concentrates now only on the "Meeting Tim, the Enchanter" and the "Rabbit of Caerbannog" scenes creating a 2-in-1 set. The other holy grail sets, now expanded by "The Legendary Black Beast of Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh" and the "Camelot" sets, can still be viewed on my Flickr stream (http://www.flickr.com/photos/90979715@N05/sets/72157635231357178/).

The "Rabbit of Caerbannog" playset is a tribute to the classic movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

King Arthur's Knights of the Round Table are led to the Cave of Caerbannog by Tim the Enchanter, and find that they must face down its guardian beast.

    • Includes 4 minifigures: Tim the Enchanter, King Arthur, Sir Bors and Sir Robin (but could also include all the Knights of the Round Table too)

    • Includes the mighty beast of Caerbannog ("What? Behind the rabbit?")

    • Let Sir Bors attack the rabbit ("One rabbit stew coming right up!")

    • Make a frontal attack. You know how it ends... ("Run away, run away!")

    Minifigures in the set:
    1. Artur, King of the Britons and also an expert of swallows (both African and Europian).
    2. Sir Bedevere: a knight who is also wise in the ways of science: a master of logical deduction ("If she weighs the same as a duck, she's made of wood...") and an excellent strategist.
    3. Sir Lancelot: one of King Arthur's bravest knights. He also loves to attend weddings.
    4. Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot
    5. Sir Galahad the Pure: it's his duty as a knight to sample as much peril as he can (but he is not allowed to do so; it is too perilous).
    6. Sir Bors: even though Sir Bors is a noble knight he is not flawless, he tends to lose his head easily.
    7. Tim, the enchanter: a powerful and pyromaniac wizard, capable of creating fire without flint or tinder.
    8. The rabbit of Caerbannog: the mighty beast is the nemesis of Sir Bors.

Side note: Tim's hood with those horns is obviously custom made in the other images, but if the set should come to production it could be easily replaced by another kind of helmet like the one shown in the image above.

    Alternate model:
The bricks used in the Rabbit of Caerbannog scene (and a few additional ones like the flames) can be used to build the alternate model "Meeting Tim, the Enchanter".

For being the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent I've even set eyes on, that is a pretty cute little bunny. Now, who has a holy hand grenade?

Good luck as you as you quest to find the grail...and to gather 10,000 supporters!
