    Japanese old style architecture

    created by taxon55 on 2011.07.13

    Main Section
We will create an old traditional Japanese buildings.
We would like to point production spotlights the era was so different from the design and construction of building types and regions.

Although I think that a familiar person is also in temples famous for the castle in Japan, Kyoto, etc., I think that it is a country building or there are few people who know the building stuck to lives, such as a shrine and a hot spring.
    It is there.
I wanted to get to know and get traditional architecture of Japan through making to people of various countries, and made the work.

Please read BrickJournal 18, if there is interest.

    Congratulations on 10,000 supporters, taxon55!

Congratulations on this achievement, to both taxon55 and to all supporters of this excellent LEGO® CUUSOO project.

As we've said before, this is a very well designed project that captures the essence of these traditional Japanese buildings. The models really make you feel like you're there! We look forward to considering your project in the LEGO Review.

    What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A "LEGO Review Board" composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We'll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product, including playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.

    Timing of the LEGO Review
This project qualifies for the quarterly review beginning in January, which will also include all projects that reach 10,000 between now and January 6. For more information about the quarterly review process, see this Knowledge Base article.

The review is a thorough process and from its start, and can take several months. When finished, we make a "go/no go" decision to develop and sell a product based on the Japanese Old Style Architecture concept.

When the review is complete, we will inform you of our decision. If green-lit, this project goes into the longest phase of the project; the Development phase. During this time, LEGO model designers refine the product and develop it for release, we create the product materials (box, instructions, marketing), and get everything ready for a production run. This also takes several months.

We will post follow-up information and our decision here.

    Hi taxon55,

Congratulations on 5,000+ supporters for your project, Japanese old style architecture!

This project features several examples of traditional Japanese architecture, all with their distinct character. As we mentioned earlier, we are impressed with the level of detail you've included in the models.

If your project reaches 10,000 supporters, we would naturally choose to focus on one of the concepts for development. This won't be easy; they're all beautiful and capture a different aspect of Japanese culture. So, you might wish to choose which model is your priority for being produced.

Best wishes as you continue on your journey to achieving 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO.

Congratulations on all of the support! You models are very detailed an intricate, and certainly capture the essence of traditional Japanese architecture with LEGO bricks. We especially enjoy the small touches like the grille tiles uses on the windows and the clip plates used to create the ornaments on the roof peaks. Very well done!

Please understand that this initial green light does not have an effect on the LEGO Review that will take place if the project reaches 10,000 supporters. Until then, we wish you the best of luck on your journey to 10,000 supporters!
