    THE DOUBLE AXE

After first contact was made with the "black hole" race, H.U.N. leaders began wondering if they podes a thrreat to mankind andits ruling quadrants. News of the nebulon's attacks in the rim colonies soon confirmed their suspicions. H.U.N. forces, as qualified as they were and with top tech and machinery could offer verylittle resistance against such a powerful new enemy.

Back on Earth, the news of the massive victory in the BUG WARS was still echoing. Humans thought themselves to be undefeatable and the most advanced race in the known galaxy. H.U.N. representatives, though quite aware of theoending threat, decided to hold out the information from the general public. It was election period and a new space-galactic war wouldn't go well... not now that a victory against the bugs would ensure another decade for the current ruling body.

Voting against this decision omit information were proeminent Dr. Reekardoo and 5 star engineer KitBricksto. Both felt that despite it woud be a bad move politicallty, people had the right to know that a new enemy had risen from the void. They saw this as incontrovertible as a way to raise new funds to develop the technology needed to match that of the Nebulons.

Their silence was only bought with the promise of infinite funding. The destiny of Earth now rested on the hands of these two individuals.

The Double Axe was the first main creation to come to mind. Reports from the rim territories stated the H.U.N. destroyers were easily "wiped clean",by swarming enemy ships. A new destroyer was needed but one with far more speed, firepower, armour, shielding and autonomy. Thus plans for the Double-Axe came to be. With an hangar with capacity fo 50 gryphons, 100 wisps, 100 BATs, 50 hummingbirds, 50 Ravens and 25 GCMs it was the largest ever devised ship for the Human fleet. Cargo capacity for 50 Armadillos and 200 recon bikes (being only a few mark Vs) A grand crew total of 5000 commandos, plus 500 technical staff and 100 medical staff. A total of more than 5.000 bricks were used in its construction...

We thought ourselves to be prepared... The Nebulons however came sooner than expected. Only one Double-Axe was ever made

Galaxy Command, led by Commander Wulf, took the Double Axe to Saturn's space area to engage the enemy. First clash was a victory. TheDouble Axe withstood the nebulon fighters wave after wave. The shields withstood. All wisp and batfighters (light andheavy fighters) were mustered in one big wave. Such a wavem thouhg with a few casualties, disrupted Nebulon shields of one of the frigates. The Double-Axe concentrated its firepower on the wounded vessel and sent it back to the void in pieces. It was a promising start for Galaxy Command. H.U.N. force were notso lucky however . The fleet was completely destroyed by two other enemy ships while the Double-Axe battled toe to toe with one enemy frigate. Soon, hundred more blips appeared on the deep space scanners. Those three enemy frigates were only the recon invasion force.

Soon after, H.U.N High Command ordered the Double-Axe to abandon battleground, and seek refuge in the star as they alone were the least members of a free Humanity. Commander Wulf obeyed thouh promising to himself he would one day return to rid Earth of the Nebulons.
