This would be a range of models of historical computers, specifically those that spurred on the home computer market from the 1980s. The model featured here is of a Sinclair ZX81, but I would envisage other computers from that era - Sinclair Spectrum, BBC Micro, Atari ST, Vic-20, Commodore 64, MSX systems, etc.. The models should be as close to 1:1 as possible, thus allowing models of varying sizes (and price) to be sold. A ZX81 would, for example, be a much cheaper set than a BBC Model B, or a Commodore Amiga.
Each model would feature a lift-off section which would give an approximation of the inner workings of the machine in question. Again, the above example is of my ZX821 model which has a lego circuit board.
It would be nice if Lego were to make or print components that looked like chips, resistors, capacitors and so on.
The resolution of Lego is quite low - and nicely reflects the lo-resolution of the graphics that early machines offered. It would be good to be able to present any identifying badges or logos as custom printed bricks (if possible). However, I don’t see it as a necessity.
Computer keyboard keys can be tricky to match with standard lego bricks. A custom brick or two shaped like standard keys would be helpful when modelling computers with full size keyboards.
It would be nice to include a mini-fig representation of the creator of the machine, or key people involved in their invention or production, though not necessary. As an illustration, here is a mini-fig of Clive Sinclair.
